Q. Why should a smaller loan mean paying a higher rate?

A. Because the cost of administering the loan remains the same, so lenders will charge more interest on a smaller loan to cover their costs.

But it can still be a bit of a shock for borrowers.

Finance companies still don't love the internet

Looks like we're ahead of the game again! Apparently financial service providers still don't fancy the internet much, despite six out of ten people saying they became aware of a new financial product or service for the first time through the internet.

Hello! Welcome to my world

Ooooh. Hello. I'm the new Loan Genie. I've come through the rigorous, Apprentice-style Genie selection process, which involves hard-core researching, comparing, magic carpet flying, lamp lighting, and the rest. Yes, I am the chosen one.

Well, the latest chosen one anyway. I'm the latest to be selected for the Genie stable (do genies live in stables?), joining the two existing housemates the Broadband Genie and the DVD Rental Genie. Genie-tastic.

My job is to provide comprehensive, plain-English information and helpful tools to help you people out there to research the world of loans, compare loans, and find the vert best loans available. Check out the loans website they've given me.

Hmmm. That's enough for now, best get on with it.

The site is in beta for a while, so please please let me know if you have any feedback by commenting in this blog. If you like what I do and find me helpful, then link to me to let others know.

I'll keep the blog updated - come back and visit!
